Research Article Writing Services for Journal Submission

Most papers are rejectedĀ before a reviewer ever reads them.

We turn analysed research into a submission-ready manuscript — IMRaD structure, reporting that meets journal standards, a target journal that actually matches your scope, and a cover letter that gets you past the editor’s desk. Written by researchers who publish, not by content writers.

The real bottleneck

Your research isn’t the problem. The reporting is.

Scholars usually assume a rejection means the science wasn’t good enough. Far more often, the paper never reached anyone qualified to judge the science. High-ranking journals return a large share of submissions at the editor’s desk, and the reasons are almost always procedural: the paper was sent to the wrong journal, the methods couldn’t be reproduced from what was written, the ethics statement was absent, or the English got in the way of the argument.

Every one of those is fixable before submission — and none of them requires new data.
Excellence Innovations writes and prepares manuscripts for journal submission.Ā That means the structure, the statistical reporting, the figures, the journal shortlist, the cover letter and, when the reviews arrive, the point-by-point response. Whether you are starting from a dataset, a thesis chapter, a rough draft or a rejection letter, we work from where you are.
We support researchers and doctoral scholars across India, the UK, Australia, Canada, the UAE and Malaysia, in management, engineering, computer science, medicine and public health, economics, education and the social sciences.

Six article types. They are not interchangeable.

Most first-time authors write a review article in IMRaD format, or submit a short communication at full paper length. Getting the type right before you write saves a rewrite later.

Article types compared
TypeTypical lengthWhat it must containSupport
Original research4,000–7,000New data, IMRaD structure, full methods, statistical reporting, stated contribution.
Review article5,000–8,000Critical synthesis of a field, thematic structure — not IMRaD, and no new data.Review article writing
Systematic review6,000–9,000PRISMA flow, defined search protocol, inclusion criteria, quality appraisal, often a meta-analysis.Literature review help
Conference paper4,000–6,000Template-driven, usually IEEE or ACM format, hard page limits, earlier-stage findings acceptable.IEEE paper writing
Short communication1,500–3,000A single significant finding reported quickly, condensed methods, few figures.
Case report1,000–2,500Clinical presentation, intervention, outcome, consent statement, CARE guideline compliance.Medical writing

Lengths are typical ranges. Your target journal’s author guidelines override all of them, including the abstract word limit and the maximum number of figures and tables.

Desk rejection causes and fixes
CauseFix before submission
Out of scopeRead the journal’s aims and three recent issues. If your paper wouldn’t sit naturally beside them, it’s the wrong journal.
Methods not reproducibleRewrite so another researcher could repeat the study. Name software and versions, sampling and instruments.
Language impedes readingProfessional academic editing. Editors reject when meaning is unclear, not when grammar is imperfect.
Ethics statement missingAdd approval body, reference number and consent procedure. Non-negotiable for human or animal research.
Guidelines ignoredReformat to the journal’s template — headings, reference style, figure resolution, word and abstract limits.
Similarity flaggedRewrite flagged passages manually and repair citations before submission, not after a flag.
No stated contributionSay plainly what is new here and why the field should care. Editors will not infer it for you.

Why papers get returned withoutĀ review.

Desk rejection is an editorial screening decision, not a scientific verdict. It usually arrives within days, with a form letter that does not tell you which box you failed.

The table lists what editors actually screen on, and what fixes each. Almost all of it is work you can do before submitting — which is the entire argument for preparing a manuscript properly rather than submitting and hoping.

Before you pay any article processing charge

Predatory journals target authors close to a submission deadline. The signals are consistent: unsolicited invitations, acceptance promised within days, a fee demanded before peer review, an unverifiable editorial board, and an “impact factor” from an organisation nobody recognises. A paper published there can be rejected by your university and is very hard to withdraw.

Reference

What each IMRaD section has to do — and where papers lose reviewers.

Word allocations below are for a 5,000-word original research article. Journals that specify their own limits always win.

AbstractĀ Ā· 250 words
Background, objective, method, key quantitative result and the conclusion — usually structured, often the only part an editor reads in full before deciding.
Where it losesNo actual numbers. “Results showed significant improvement” tells an editor nothing about whether the study matters.

IntroductionĀ Ā· 750 words
What is known, what is missing, why it matters, and the specific objective or hypothesis this paper addresses. Narrowing funnel, ending in one sentence of purpose.
Where it losesWritten as a mini literature review, so the gap is buried and the objective never stated explicitly.
MethodsĀ Ā· 1,000 words
Design, setting, participants and sampling, instruments, procedure, statistical approach with software and version, and the ethics approval reference.
Where it losesNot reproducible. If another researcher couldn’t repeat the study from this section, an editor rejects on that basis alone.

ResultsĀ Ā· 1,250 words
Findings reported in the order of the objectives, with effect sizes and confidence intervals alongside p-values, and tables and figures that don’t duplicate the text.
Where it losesInterpretation smuggled into the results, and tables that simply repeat what the paragraph already said.
DiscussionĀ Ā· 1,500 words
Principal finding first, then comparison with prior studies including those that disagree, mechanism or explanation, implications, and honest limitations.
Where it losesThe results are restated instead of interpreted, and limitations are either omitted or listed so vaguely they read as evasive.

ConclusionĀ Ā· 250 words
One clear claim the data supports, plus what should be studied next. No new material, no overreach beyond what was measured.
Where it losesClaims causation from a cross-sectional design — the single most common reviewer objection we see.

Ways we work

Six kinds of support. Commission what you need.

Full manuscript writing
From your analysed data to a submission-ready paper — structure, reporting, figures, references and cover letter.
Thesis chapter to article
A chapter condensed into a focused paper: literature cut back, methods tightened, one central claim made.
Analysis & reporting
The statistics run or re-run, with output tables and reporting that meets journal standards.
Language & structure editing
Your draft edited to publication standard — clarity, flow, terminology and argument order.
Journal selection
A shortlist matched to scope and indexing, with rejection-risk notes and predatory screening.
Reviewer response
Point-by-point response letter, tracked revisions, and advice on which requests to decline with justification.

What you receive

A submission package, not just a document.

Everything an editorial system will ask you to upload, prepared in the format the journal specifies.

  • The manuscriptĀ in the journal’s template, with a blinded version where double-blind review is required.
  • Figures and tablesĀ at journal resolution, captioned to their conventions, supplied as separate files.
  • Cover letterĀ addressed to the editor, stating novelty, fit and any suggested reviewers.
  • Reference libraryĀ in EndNote, Mendeley or Zotero, styled to the journal.
  • Analysis files — SPSS syntax, R scripts or the project file, so the reporting is verifiable.
  • Turnitin similarity reportĀ before submission, not after a flag.
Typical delivery windows infographic comparing standard and rush turnaround times for manuscript preparation from analysed data, manuscript with analysis, thesis chapter to article conversion, language and structure editing, journal shortlisting, reviewer response letters, and reformatting after rejection.
Timelines & fees

Quoted per deliverable, paid perĀ
milestone.

Fees depend on discipline, whether the analysis is done, the target journal’s requirements and the state of any existing draft. Rescuing a desk-rejected manuscript and writing one from a clean dataset are different jobs.

We do not charge a fee contingent on acceptance, and we do not take payment for publication itself. If a provider offers “guaranteed publication for a fee”, that fee is almost certainly going to a predatory outlet.

Authorship and how this support is meant to be used

We provide research consulting, statistical analysis, writing and editing support. Authorship belongs to those who made a substantial intellectual contribution to the work — under COPE and ICMJE criteria, professional writing or editing assistance is acknowledged, not credited as authorship, and many journals require that acknowledgement in the submission. We will not appear as an author, submit on your behalf using your credentials, fabricate or alter data, or promise a publication outcome. Check your institution’s and your target journal’s policies on third-party assistance before engaging any provider, including us. Full terms are in ourĀ Academic Integrity & Fair Use Policy.

Before you send a draft.

Questions authors ask

What is IMRaD structure in a research article?

IMRaD stands for Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion — the standard structure for original research articles in most science, health and social science journals, with the abstract, references, tables and figures around it. Review articles do not follow IMRaD, which is one reason they are often structured badly by first-time authors.

Why do journals reject papers without sending them to review?

Desk rejection is usually caused by scope mismatch, methods that aren’t reported in enough detail to be assessed, English that impedes comprehension, a missing ethics or consent statement, formatting that ignores the author guidelines, or a similarity flag at submission. Most of these are fixable before you submit.

Can you help convert a thesis chapter into a journal article?

Yes — it’s one of our most common requests. A thesis chapter and a journal article are different documents: the literature review must shrink dramatically, the methods must become reproducible in a fraction of the words, and the discussion must make a single focused claim rather than several.

How long should each section of a research article be?

For a typical 5,000-word original research article: abstract 250, introduction 750, methods 1,000, results 1,250, discussion 1,500 and conclusion 250. Journals that specify their own limits always override this — check the author guidelines before you plan around any general figure.

Do you help select the right journal?

Yes. We shortlist by scope match, indexing requirement, typical review time and realistic rejection risk, and we screen against known predatory publisher lists before you submit or pay any article processing charge.

Can you guarantee my paper will be accepted?

No, and no honest provider can. Acceptance is decided by editors and peer reviewers. What we can improve is everything that causes rejectionĀ beforeĀ review — scope fit, reporting quality, structure, language and compliance. Any service promising guaranteed acceptance in an indexed journal is either using a predatory outlet or misleading you.

Do you write responses to reviewer comments?

Yes. We draft a point-by-point response letter, mark the corresponding changes in the manuscript, and advise where a reviewer request should be respectfully declined with justification rather than accepted — which is often the difference between a good revision and a weakened paper.

How long does a research article take?

A manuscript developed from existing analysed data usually takes three to four weeks. If the analysis still needs running, allow five to six weeks. Reviewer response letters are normally turned around in three to five days.

Send the draft, the data, or the rejection letter.
